Walk for Nepal

Walk for Nepal

On April 25th 2015, Nepal was struck by a 7.9 magnitude earthquake. The initial devastation has been massive, with more than 8,000 casualties reported thus far (by May 10th) – with expected casualties to go up with reports from far rural areas.

Nepalese in Iowa requested everyone to join in a short walk around Grays lake (roughly 2 miles total) and help share about the disaster, awareness and charity. Saturday's Walk for Nepal at Gray's Lake began with a moment of prayer for the thousands of people who lost their lives in the disaster.

More than 200 people joined the walk which included Nepalese and non-Nepalese community members. Most of them wore either Blue or White T-shirt for the event and walked with various kind of flyers having short message about Nepal.

Voluntary donations were collected for the victims at the event.
