The INA Election Committee invites nominations from its members to serve as Officers of the INA Board for a one-year term. The nominations should be for the following posts: 

  • President (1) 
  • Vice President (1) 
  • General Secretary (1) 
  • Treasurer (1) 
  • Public Relations Director (1) 
  • Executive Members (6) 

Interested INA members must self-nominate for one post mentioned above. To simplify the election procedure, third party nomination will not be accepted. For nomination to be valid these criteria must be fulfilled: 

  1. Election committee must receive the nomination no later than September 17, 2017. 
  2. Be an INA member by the nomination date. 
  3. Must be 18 years old by the nomination date. 

 

Nomination Procedure: 

Following guidelines and procedures must be followed by the nominee for self-nomination: 

  1. One individual member can contest for one position only. 
  2. The following information about the nominee must be provided: 
  • Full Name: 
  • Position Contesting: 
  • Current Mailing Address: 
  • Valid e-mail address: 
  • Preferred Phone Number: 
  • Member as of September 17th, 2017: Yes or No 
  1. Nomination must be submitted to electioncommittee@iowanepaleseassociation.org.
  2. Member from election committee will verify the nomination by phone, so please do provide your most preferred phone number. 
  3. Valid nomination will be made public at www.iowanepaleseassociation.org everyday (by end of the day).

Timetable for INA Election 2017 

  • Call for self-nomination – September 5th, 2017
  • Last date of nominee submission – September 17th, 2017
  • Last date to withdrawal of nominations – September 20th, 2017
  • Complaints for nominations – September 22nd, 2017
  • Hold election by secret ballots (if required/applicable) – October 8th, 2017 
  • Hold secure online election (if required/applicable) – October 8th, 2017
  • Election result to be made public – October 8th, 2017
  • Hand over to new executive board – During Dashain/Tihar Celebration, October 14th, 2017 

All rights to define the election rules will be reserved to the election committee. Election committee’s decision will be final should there be any dispute regarding the election. Call for nomination, election procedure, election timetable and other relevant information regarding upcoming election will be updated at www.iowanepaleseassociation.org.
