The 2015 Nepal earthquake which killed more than 8,000 people and injured more than 16,000, occurred at 11:56 NST on 25 April, with a moment magnitude of 7.8Mw. Its epicenter was the village of Barpak, Gorkha district. It is the worst natural disaster to strike Nepal since the 1934 Nepal–Bihar earthquake. The Forgotten and Forsaken
Two weeks after the earthquake, global media attention is gradually losing its focus on Nepal. Although there has been some coverage of remote areas, the coverage of media and aid has so far focused on Kathmandu.
